Caterblasters first appear in the third stage. When in their larvae form, move horizontally, shooting danmaku. When spotted by the player, they will pupate into a cocoon with a very hard shell and then explode into their adult 'butterfly' form. If they are killed, they will explode, causing any bullets caught in the radius to disappear. They will then endlessly shoot, and won't stop until they are killed.
